Action Raceway Facility

The "Action Raceway building" was purpose built in 2002 for indoor go karting and additional motorsports.

The floor area is 2602 sq metres or 28002 sq feet, all of this undercover for all year round enjoyment.

The areas consist of...

• 2340 sq metres for the track, pits and viewing area.
• 162 sq metres for the workshop
• 100 sq metres for the games room, and offices

The building has a 10 metre stud height with two large turbine ventilators, complete with 5 large opening ventilation doors that refresh the air and allow natural daylight in, this allows us to utilise this natural daylight as lighting instead of the harsh fluro lights.

The building has no poles and is self supporting which has allowed us to design a 320m track layout that is not only long but technically challenging as well, with 3 hair pin corners, a sweeper and some bendy straights.

The layout was designed in conjunction with a number of very experienced go kart racers.

The Go Karts

The go karts are NZ made and have stood the test of time, all the engines are 200cc 6.5hp motors, capable of exceeding 100kms, however because of regulations by the Department of Labour we have geared these down to 35 klm, this doesn’t sound much, but is ample to make indoor go karting not only enjoyable but give you a good burst of adrenaline.

An average lap time around the track is approximately 26 to 27 seconds, the more experienced drivers clock between 25 and 26 seconds and the best guys get into the 24's.

All the karts have transducers which activate the timing system, which counts the laps, measurers the speed, places each kart in ranking order and additional other technical info.

The evidence is there for everyone to see, so no "fish storeys" We can also run our jeeps on the same track to encourage to "Little lees".

The Bumper Boats

The Bumper Boat pool allows for up to 16 bumper boats to operate. This pool is 50m long by 18m wide, but only 900mm in depth and holds 700,000 litres of fresh water which is filtered by 5 filtration pumps. The pool was designed complete with sculptured bays for each boat, so that entry and exiting of the boat is safe. A tunnel with 2 waterfalls inside, and 2 external waterfalls featured that light up at night.
